London Drama SchoolTHEATRE STUDIESCourse Module Aims and Objectives:The course aims to explore the many facets of Theatre, leading to a deeper understanding of the dramatists' art. It will provide students with detailed knowledge of the most important British, American and Russian playwrights and directors. Study will include the life and times of the playwright, a detailed study of at least one of their plays, discussion, and improvisation from text. The Creative Process:Approaching the craft of writing by using classmates as the acting company, students write their own dialogues and scenes through visual stimuli, improvisation, and memory. Theatre Visits: The London Drama School is situated within easy reach of the West End and many of London's Fringe venues. The course takes advantage of this by offering theatre trips and study of current productions. Please Note: This subject is only available as an important component of our 1-year acting course and not on its own!
