London Language and Drama SchoolENGLISH AND DRAMA COURSES - Ref. KET/KAF (September to June) and Ref. ISKET (July & August)Our English (EFL) course with Acting and Theatre Studies is divided into two levels: Foundation and Advanced. Each level will cover the fundamental principles of drama with practice and performance techniques. English and Level II Drama course (Ref. KET / KAF) (30 hours per week = 26 hours Drama + 4 hours EFL - available as an optional module to the one- year Foundation Drama course only !) Students will cover all the principles of Drama, including rehearsal and performance techniques. The courses are designed to build confidence and give students an understanding of dialogue, as well as create awareness of physicality. Students wil also learn how to create a character through text analysis, while learning to use voice and body correctly. They are taught by actors, directors, dancers , and singers, who are currently working in the Business, and, therefore, get a true impression of what being an actor/presenter is really like. Drama Studies will include: improvistion, text work, mime, acting for TV and film, animal study, Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw, some Modern Playwright and an Introduction to Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Stanislavsky The Advanced Drama course enables the student to understand the psychology of acting. Students will also learn how to create a character through analysis of English texts, while learning how to use voice and body correctly, thus preparing the students for an in-house performance in English.
Theatre Studies The Theatre Studies' course will provide students with detailed knowledge of the most important British, American, and Russian playwrights and directors. Study will include the life and times of the playwright, a detailed study of a least one of their plays, discussion, English grammar, and vocabulary. English and Foundation Drama course (Ref ISKET / A, B or C)(22 hours per week = 12 hours Drama + 10 hours EFL - available in the summer only !)The English and Drama Summer courses aim to build up confidence and improve spoken English while learning to communicate in English with others. The course is also designed to help students understand English dialogues and create awareness of self-physicality. It also enables the student to understand the psychology of acting. Students will also learn how to create a character through analysis of English texts, while learning how to use voice and body correctly, thus preparing the students for an in-house performance in English.
