Hi dear people of Startek,I’m not sure if you all remember me, I attended Startek in 2004-2005 (which is a while ago!). I obviously still think back of my time at Startek, and I wonder how everyones doing over there.I’m hoping to come visit you all in the next schoolyear to sneak a peek. Since Ive left Ive done several things in acting and presenting in Amsterdam.

Since 2008 I fully work as a freelancer in the business, which makes me very happy! My main thing is that I work as a Casting Director for John Doornik Casting in Amsterdam. Where I direct the auditions and everything else, I really enjoy directing these days! Ive done some commercials and films, and won 2 awards for best actress, at small festivals with my performances in movies, but other then that I don’t really get the chance to act a lot in Holland.. unfortunately. I do however get to do a lot of presenting, and I get a lot of work in presenting and voice-overwork because of my level of English speech, thanks to my time in the UK and Glen’s extra speech classes!! I’ve recently interviewed Christian Camargo (well known from the show Dexter) who performed in The Tempest and As you like it both directed by Sam Mendes here at the Holland Festival. The intro is in dutch, but the rest obviously in English; here’s a clip: http://p.videoculture.nl/vcp/vcPlayer.swf?p=v%7c7768cb797939012f1280bef90136a77e

I can send you guys the full 30 minute interview if you like, maybe you can watch it in class, as its all about Shakespeare and acting. If you’re interested, let me know!Hope youre all well, Tamar Tieleman - www.tamartieleman.nl - tamar@tamartieleman.nl

Oh yes! I forgot;

Me and Vicki Helyar (who was also in the same class with me at startek 2004-2005) are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer from the 22nd till the 29th of august!

Thanks for the invite - i'm afraid I can't make it along this year. I'm in rehearsals for a production of Sweeney Todd that's on in January.

Thought you might like to see the review I got for the last show I just finished.

The news is that we won 2 prizes of an important Festival, the "Festival Internacional Madrid Sur": best scenographie and best play (not best text, but best spectacle, I mean, the most important prize).
I belong to this companie, "La Paranoia de Trastaravíes",  two years ago. I still maintain my own companie, "Fantasion Teatro" for infantile plays, (theatre for children).
With this companie I played the role of "Creón
" in Antígona, from to years ago since some months ago, when we finished with this show.
Since last January, I perform the role of Edgar Allan Poe in this one, "Sombras y Preguntas" ("Shadows and Questions").
The play tells the last night in his life. Carlos Gutiérrez

Sarah, by the way, I have been offered a full time position by the university of music here in Japan.  Starting from this coming April, I will be teaching at this university where students are to be performers; actors, singers, musical dancers, ballerinas, and art management staff members.  I just wanted to share this timely & exciting news with you!  I will write Michelle and send her a brochure of this university (this university has such a beautiful theatre!), soon after everything is set and officially confirmed. Without my days in London and studying at Star TEK, my life would not have been as it is now. I owe you a lot, Sarah ; Kaori

Hi Sarah!!! Log time ago... how are you , how is Jim? And the rest of the people? Please tell me!!! Well , I only wanted let you know that I´m playing the role of 'Creón' in 'Antígona' , a production of the Council of Getafe (Madrid). We started the first week-end of March and the most important function we´ve played was last Thursday , on the 'Festival de Teatro Clásico' a very well known Festival here in Madrid , on the 'Teatro Federico García Lorca'. The truth is that the reaction of public and critic has been... exceptional!!!! Sincerely , it´s a very good job. The play works very well. It´s based on Jean Anouhil´s version. In my opinion one of the best 'Antígona'´s I´ve ever read. We´ve built a very complex Creón with a personality (character´s psichology) very difficult and contradictory and... well , the directress is very happy with my work , and the public too, it´s unanimous in fact!!!
 London Drama School playing Creon
On stage I´m unrecognosible , with a big beard (natural of course) and  white costumes in a mediterranean way. Don´t forget I´m the prince of Thebes (Tebas)  ;)

This year I´m not going to prepare nothing with my own company , 'Fantasión Teatro' (remember that usually we prepare infantile spectacles , every two years more less) because of this role and the rest of my activities: I teach a group of children (5-12 years old) of the council and I teach the drama workshop for women of a cultural centre too.

Well , take care , I miss you so much, and I´ve decided to write you to tell you these news because I thougth you were happy to know it.

Big kiss to Jim , and of course to the rest of the people. Let them know my mail. I send you some pictures. Carlos Gutiérrez.

Dear all beloved Teachers & Friends,

Hello from Thailand!!! How are you? I hope you are fine. for me, i'm pretty fine. Actually, I arrived here for  2 months now. How amazing to my life.....

My second week..I got a job in the theatre. they showed musical theatre in Thai Love story called " KOO-KAM ". I really enjoyed it even I didn't act. I was a trainee about stage but you know, it was a first chance to do...so I decided to do it.

after this job, I had a short event to do with the same company...but they changed my position to be actress ^___^ it wasn't a big event..but i can tell that " it was fun ". I gained new experience & new friends there.

nowadays, I'm still a freelance person : hehe : I just want to try many things because 2 years that I was in UK everything changes as well. so I think i'll try everything that give me a chance to do. the next one, I'll teach singing for the children that interested in singing for 6 months, twice a week. I hope that will be fun...wish me luck...... I miss you all....from my heart. I hope everyone in our course will get a good job or continue studying. Good Luck for u all ..

Dear Sarah :) Of course I would like to tell a fellow Dane about your course. I've just send her an e-mail with contact information. Its actully rather exciting to get to be the one who tells someone else about the course. I'd also like to take this opportunity to once again thank you for the course. It made me even more curious and I ended up at East 15 acting school for a year, but finally decided to go back to denmark to study psychology. All the best, Sarah Jensen

Hi there Sarah, Nick here, things are going okay. Finished work on the feature 'Incidental Weekend' last year, and the directors say that it'll be ready for
screening in June. Since then I've been concentrating on my band, called Caisson, working towards a record deal. Looking fairly hopeful, but time will tell. On the acting front, I start on another independent feature in May, while I continue in the quest of getting some TV work. Also, I have started working on the first draft of a screenplay after the synopsis received some positive
feedback from production companies.
All in all, optimistic about this year, so looking forward to what it brings. Hope all is well at the school, and I look forward
to dropping in some time. All the best, Nick.

Hi there everyone!! Sorry it has taken me a while to respond to you. I was waiting for my website to be updated. So please add me to your "Who's Where"!! www.jennymcgrath.com -
I am now home in Ireland one year after nearly 5 years in London. I am running my own business called Gymboree Play & Music (www.playandmusic.ie). I have 3 employees which allows me to be flexible enough to take acting jobs. Just as well, as I have just been cast as a new edition to Fair City ( Irelands answer to Corrie or Eastenders). I am doing a bubble for 3 weeks and hopefully if they like the character, they will write her back in. Fingers crossed. I am also the voice for the TV advert (RTE) on Patricia Scanlans new book for the 2nd time. So things are moving slowly along but at least they are moving. I had an amazing time at Star tek. It changed my life really. It taught me about other people, the ups and downs of an Actors life and most of all about myself (the good and the bad). So thanks to a great creative and supportive team of teachers who opened a door for me, one which I thought could never be opened. I really hope that you are all doing well and you are still having fun with it!!! Hi Michelle, Sarah, Jim, Glenn, Liza, Jennifer, Zane & Zoe. I hope i haven't missed any one. Thanks for everything. Do you still see Anna Mendez? I often think about her. If you do, can you tell her that I have just completed my first year training as a Yoga teacher and thanks for the inspiration!!! And Zoe, I think we both have the same voice over agent....weird!!! Well, Happy St Patricks day, have a ball. Jim I know you will take full advantage of those Irish Roots. :-) Lots of Love. Jenny McGrath
