NEWS FROM PAST STUDENTS

Date posted: Jan 2006

I'm now on my third year at the National Drama School (that means 17 monts left to freedom;o) and all is great.
Have just been in Sweden to shoot a feature film, that I'm playing a small part in - REAL WORK aaahh :o)
Actually I'm coming to London for a couple of days next week. To watch some theatre and to see Claudia Büttler form my class back at LDS. Looking forward to it!
All the best, Anders

Dear Sarah :)
Of course I would like to tell a fellow Dane about your course. I've just send her an e-mail with contact information. Its actully rather exciting to get to be the one who tells someone else about the course. I'd also like to take this opportunity to once again thank you for the course. It made me even more curious and I ended up at East 15 acting school for a year, but finally decided to go back to denmark to study psychology. All the best, Sarah Jensen

Hi there Sarah, Nick here, things are going okay. Finished work on the feature 'Incidental Weekend' last year, and the directors say that it'll be ready for
screening in June.
Since then I've been concentrating on my band, called Caisson, working towards a record deal. Looking fairly hopeful, but time will tell. On the acting front, I start on another independent feature in May, while I continue in the quest of getting some TV work. Also, I have started working on the first draft of a screenplay after the synopsis received some positive
feedback from production companies.
All in all, optimistic about this year, so looking forward to what it brings. Hope all is well at the school, and I look forward
to dropping in some time. All the best, Nick.

Hello everyone, Just thought i'd say a happy new year to you all and send you a couple of pics of the show I did before christmas to make you laugh! It went really really well and there's a chance we're going to do it again later this year at either the lyric in hammersmith or the unicorn - so fingers crossed. Hope all well and good with you all. love Vick x

Hello there, Just wanted to let you know that I applied for this, got the job and have just recorded it for him! (Walter Campbell at Greenlightme). So big thank you to you all for sending this on. Hope to see you soon, Vick x

Acting Job OfferFrom: Walter Campbell <greenlightme@yahoo.com>
Subject: Radio Play Actor Wanted:

If you know of anyone that may be interested in this
posting, please feel free to pass it on. I am using several British (some recording in the U.K. and sending me mp3's) actors in this piece. Thank you so much for your time. Walter Campbell

CHILD RADIO PLAY ACTOR WANTED (OR AN ADULT ACTOR WHO CAN RECREATE A CHILD'S VOICE)

I am looking for a Child Radio Play/Audio-Book actor
(or any talent that can read aloud) to perform an
original work entitled “The Man Who Would Be Sherlock
Holmes”.

Genre: Action-Adventure/Horror.

This is a performance piece containing full narration,
nonstop sound effects and original music.

The source material is my own, so needless to say…I
plan to really push it and get it out there. I want
the end result to be as professional as possible (and
I am happy to say, it's turning out that way).

It will be done solely for the experience, copy and
credit. The final result will be posted on my website,
itunes and other podcast sites.

All cast members will be listed on my web site with a
photograph and a contact link.

The part is for a small boy, 9 to 12 (older is okay as
long as you sound like you are younger) with a very
strong and authentic British/cockney accent, as in the
Artful Dodger.

Female is okay as well as long you sound like a little
boy.

Casting can be done over the phone or through mp3’s.

This is not a long commitment, a few rehearsals
followed by the actual recording. This part can be
finished in just a few hours.

I am recording in the City of Orange in southern
California. But, I am working with other talent in
London and abroad who records and then emails me the
mp3's, and that is working out very well.

I would hope to record as soon as possible as the play
is already in production.

Only the serious need apply.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Walter Campbell

Hi there everyone!!

Sorry it has taken me a while to respond to you. I was waiting for my website to be updated. So please add me to your "Who's Where"!!
www.jennymcgrath.com

I am now home in Ireland one year after nearly 5 years in London. I am running my own business called Gymboree Play & Music (
www.playandmusic.ie). I have 3 employees which allows me to be flexible enough to take acting jobs. Just as well, as I have just been cast as a new edition to Fair City ( Irelands answer to Corrie or Eastenders). I am doing a bubble for 3 weeks and hopefully if they like the character, they will write her back in. Fingers crossed. I am also the voice for the TV advert (RTE) on Patricia Scanlans new book for the 2nd time. So things are moving slowly along but at least they are moving.

I had an amazing time at Star tek. It changed my life really. It taught me about other people, the ups and downs of an Actors life and most of all about myself (the good and the bad). So thanks to a great creative and supportive team of teachers who opened a door for me, one which I thought could never be opened.

I really hope that you are all doing well and you are still having fun with it!!!

Hi Michelle, Sarah, Jim, Glenn, Liza, Jennifer, Zane & Zoe. I hope i haven't missed any one. Thanks for everything. Do you still see Anna Mendez? I often think about her. If you do, can you tell her that I have just completed my first year training as a Yoga teacher and thanks for the inspiration!!!

And Zoe, I think we both have the same voice over agent....weird!!!

Well, Happy St Patricks day, have a ball. Jim I know you will take full advantage of those Irish Roots. :-)Lots of Love.
Jenny McGrath
