Advanced Drama Course

 

Course Ref. KAT (30 hours per week)

The course is suitable for students who already have some basic Acting training and is designed to prepare and equip students for the profession.  Students will also learn how to create a character through text analysis while learning to use voice and body correctly. 

All students will finish the course with a minimum of four prepared audition speeches (including one Shakespeare monologue) and two audition songs. Students will cover all the principles of Drama, including rehearsal and performance techniques and will be entered for the Trinity Guildhall ATCL Diploma in Performing Arts, which is Level 5 on the NQF national framework, or equivalent to the first year of a degree course.

COURSE   OUTLINE

Improvisation, text work, mime, acting for TV and film, animal study, Shakespeare, Restoration Comedy, and Stanislavski. (See More details in our Brochure).

There are many visiting professionals, including a Theatrical Agent who will give the students advice on photos, CV's, Spotlight, Castings and how to proceed in the business.

At the end of the Spring Term, there is a showcase of the students’ work in a West End Theatre, in Covent Garden, in front of an invited audience, which includes professionals. All students can purchase a video of the show.
