Performance Arts Summer Course

 

PERFORMANCE ARTS SUMMER COURSE 2013

Dates: Mon 24th June 2013 – Sun 14th July 2013. (Mon – Fri, 10.30am – 4.30pm. The exam to be taken during the last weekend of the course)

This course will cover:
Shakespeare
Physical Theatre
Singing
Movement & Dance
Writing & Devising

All students will be entered as a group for Trinity Grade 8 in Performance Arts at the end of the course.  This exam is carries UCAS points on the NQF Framework and is equivalent to an A-Level.  Grade 8 is one of the prerequisites for our Diploma Course.  On passing the exam, all students will receive a certificate from Trinity and a group report sheet, which will be forwarded to them after it has been received by The London Drama School.

Students will perform five items, in the categories above for the exam, in a group.  They will also be expected to develop some contributory skills such as costume, mask or prop design .

Sarah Mann LTCL, Arts Ed. Dip is the Artistic Director and Senior Tutor of this course.  Sarah is a Trinity examiner, actress, producer and writer who studied at The Arts educational Schools, London.  Sarah co-founded Incisor Theatre Company in 1988 and has produced many productions for stage and screen.  She has also been assistant manager at The Fortune Theatre in Covent Garden.  Her particular interest is in Shakespeare which she has taught in London, Brighton, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and The Seychelles.

Course entry Requirements and enquiries:
We welcome enthusiastic beginners and foreign students on this course.
Minimum English level – intermediate
Minimum age 16yrs.
Some evidence of past experience or enthusiasm for Drama, Movement or Singing

Course Fees: £890 inclusive of Trinity Exam Fee

Please note this course needs a minimum of 6 students to run and a maximum of 16 students to ensure successful exam tuition.

English (EFL) Option

Our English (EFL) language course (Ref. KET) consists of 4 hours of studies per week. It is available from Intermediate to Advanced Level. The course provides complete language support for our Drama courses as well as help with English Listening and Reading Comprehension, Usage and Grammar, and Pronunciation. The course is also designed to help students achieve a deeper understanding of English dialogues, scripts, and plays.
